Naturopathic Treatments for Women’s Health

As women, some of the common health issues we experience are PMS, menopause, yeast infections, bladder infections, vaginal dryness, and osteoporosis.

There are a many prescription and over-the-counter medications that can quickly relieve some of these issues.

Often, though, they bring only temporary relief. Even worse, they can cause other problems, such as digestive issues after taking antibiotics.

In my years of study and practice, I have seen that naturopathic treatment can effectively help women with their biggest concerns.

Most women of child-bearing age experience PMS symptoms, such as bloating, breast tenderness, migraine headaches, irritability, acne, food cravings, and mood swings.

In some cases, symptoms can severely impact quality of life.

These symptoms are largely caused by hormone fluctuations during the course of the menstrual cycle.

The use of herbs and acupuncture, along with dietary and lifestyle changes, can reduce the severity of and sometimes completely eliminate PMS symptoms by regulating hormonal imbalances.

Many couples who want children have difficulty conceiving. Acupuncture is an effective treatment that helps regulate the menstrual cycle and optimize conditions for conception.

Pregnant women often experience unpleasant symptoms such as morning sickness, fatigue, dizziness, threatened miscarriage, UTIs, constipation, abdominal pain, and anxiety.

Acupuncture is a very effective treatment for these conditions of pregnancy, without the risk of side effects and potential harm to the fetus that can accompany the use of prescription medication.

Symptoms of menopause include weight gain, mood swings, fluid retention, depression, irritability, poor concentration, hot flashes, and night sweats. In many cases, dietary and lifestyle changes are sufficient to relieve these symptoms. In other cases, even for women who already lead healthy lifestyles, additional treatment is required, such as salivary hormone testing and herbs and supplements that support hormone health.
